My second to last picture of Machu Picchu
Song: “You got to go” by Above & Beyond
Who would ever guess that I fell in love on top of the Puerta del Sol? Falling in love is like when you are able to open your eyes and you see the world in all the tones, hues, colors and shades so that the memory can preserve the moment. Not all of the images are clearly defined. Yet when the light pours in and it floods your senses, you can feel the heat. (I am not pulling this from the Peter Gabriel song. Though I find that we all are inspired by some fusion of artistic creations to form our own versions of poetry)
Although this is my last physical image of one of the seven wonders of the world, I will never forget him sitting there behind me, so thoughtful and serene. I barely can remember our full conversation, but I still feel his presence when I look at this picture.
It is hard to justify whether what I felt was “love” or intense interest in this scenario. Romantics tend to feel completely moved off of one lengthy conversation because that spark that kicks our hopeful imagination into gear. How will this story go on? Please let this stay like this for a moment longer?
And when we made plans, my heart got away with me. But the lesson learned is when plans fall through and disappointment floods in, don’t fight it. As a human, I am allowed to feel the blues. Life is moving too fast for regret to rule our thoughts.
Channel the pain it into something new and beautiful. Through the struggles we can find peace and creativity!
